Role Summary
The Project Engineer at Redwood is a pivotal technical role responsible for the successful programming, commissioning, and technical delivery of luxury smart-home and intelligent-building systems across the UAE. This role ensures that cutting-edge AV, lighting, control, and networking solutions are implemented to the highest standards, meeting both design specifications and client expectations, while actively contributing to on-site installations and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- System Programming & Commissioning: Configure, program, and rigorously test smart home systems, including Control4, KNX, Lutron, AV distribution, and networking solutions, ensuring they meet design specifications, client expectations, and operate reliably.
- Technical Delivery & On-Site Installation: Actively participate in installations, including mounting, wiring, and device setup for AV, lighting, and control systems, providing technical leadership and ensuring accurate and efficient physical implementation.
- Troubleshooting & System Validation: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during system integration and commissioning, running comprehensive diagnostics and validating system performance across all integrated components.
- Quality Assurance & Client Handover: Conduct thorough final system checks, ensuring all functionality is tested and documented. Support the creation of handover packs and provide essential client training for system operation.
- Innovation & Technical Feedback: Contribute to the continuous improvement of programming standards, product selection, and integration techniques by providing feedback on system performance, hardware reliability, and workflow processes.
- Project Coordination & Reporting: Collaborate effectively with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on timelines, site readiness, and system dependencies. Maintain detailed daily reports and update internal task management platforms.
- Client Interaction & Professional Representation: Represent Redwood professionally on-site, communicating complex technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and escalating critical issues to senior management when necessary.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- System Commissioning Success Rate: Percentage of projects commissioned on schedule with zero critical post-handover defects.
- Troubleshooting Resolution Time: Average time to diagnose and resolve technical issues identified during commissioning and post-installation.
- Client Satisfaction Score (Technical Aspects): Positive feedback from clients regarding system functionality and technical support during handover.
- Installation Quality & Adherence: Compliance of physical installations with design schematics, wiring standards, and Redwood's quality benchmarks.
- Documentation Completeness & Accuracy: Timeliness and quality of project documentation, including as-built drawings and handover packs.
- Contribution to Technical Improvements: Number of actionable suggestions implemented for programming standards, product integration, or workflow efficiency.
- Project Reporting Compliance: Adherence to daily reporting requirements and timely updates on project management platforms.
- Certification & Skill Development: Completion of relevant industry certifications (e.g., Control4, KNX) and participation in ongoing technical training.
